Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG exceptionally rich in side content, offering players the opportunity to further improve their skills in the game by participating in the side quests, which are also to be completed to complete the game at 100 %, except the quest PS5 exclusive titled Mind Your Cauldron.
You will get access to this quest, which is remarkably long and rather terrifying, after the main quest: All Fired Up.
To start it, you'll go talk to Penny, a house-elf who can be found outside an empty store in Hogsmeade. Then you will realize later that this is the toughest side quest in the entire Hogwarts Legacy game. Here's how it unfolds.

Start of the side quest Take care of your cauldron in Hogwarts Legacy
During your discussion with Penny, she will ask you to speak to Cassandra Mason, her mistress whom you will find nearby, outside her house, and who will agree to leave you the store and her elf in exchange for 1,500 galleons. The store will be able to start working with a few hits from Reparo, but also after unlocking a certain chest that Cassandra mentioned.
Discovery of what is under the ground
Go down the ladder, then continue your exploration until you find yourself facing a chest. Upon opening it, everything will turn dark, requiring you to cast Lumos and run around until a door appears. A little more exploration will take you to a room full of mannequins, which changes as you head to the jack-in-the-box in the corner. Go forward until you see a floating lantern on your right. Throw Accio or Wingardium Leviosa at this lantern, then place it on the hand-shaped hook to unlock the door nearby.
Home Exploration
The hearth is behind the previously unlocked door, and you have to explore the two areas from each side to unlock the main door in front of you. It doesn't matter which order these two areas are tackled in, you must explore them both in order to complete the quest and return to the wizarding world. The library is on the left and the atrium on the right. Each has two sections, which can also be explored in any order you choose.
Library exploration (left side)
Exploration here involves collecting two lanterns and placing them on the hooks on either side of the wooden doors. If you head to the left, you'll pass a large statue before you come to an area with a balcony. This will open up a new path where you will again need to use Accio or Wingardium Leviosa to summon a lantern above you and place it on the hook nearby to spin the room.
You will then need to go through the window and down to the area below before following the path until you find another lantern. By placing the latter on the hook, you can go through the next door, after which you must summon the lantern through the window and place it on the hook at the bottom of the stairs. This will open the way to the first of two lanterns needed to unlock the double doors in the library.
Library exploration (right side)
After placing the first lantern, you need to take the right path and go down the stairs on your left once you reach the golden statue. This will take you to a room with three doors, with the middle door being the one you need to go through first. You will find a ladder there, but trying to climb it will take you back to the room where the three doors were.
Then you need to take the left door and keep running down the endless hallway until Fastidio says something about running in circles. At that point, you can turn around and go through the door to progress. Then somehow you'll find yourself back in the room with the three doors surrounded by mannequins, and then you can take the last remaining door on the right.
This last door leads to a room where there is another floating dummy, which you will need to interact with. After that, you need to run around the area you are in, killing all the dummies that come to life. Once all the living dummies have been eliminated, you will see an open door, through which you can find the second of the two lanterns needed to open the double doors of the library.
Entertain Fastidio
In the next area, Fastidio will attack you with rocks and furniture. The best strategy is to keep moving so you can dodge all of his attacks more easily, which will cause him to give up and disappear after a minute or two. You can then return to the foyer, where the first of the two metal bars blocking your escape will be removed. It is now time for you to visit the Atrium, which is accessed by the path on the right.
Explore the Atrium (left side)
The Atrium is very similar to the Library: you must explore two areas to collect lanterns and progress. Taking the left path, you will first enter what appears to be a stately home. After you get a couch, you'll come to a dead end where there's only one mannequin, and as you turn around, you'll again find yourself blocked by a bunch of other mannequins.
If you turn around again, you'll come across a barricaded door frame, which you can get through after destroying the boards with any offensive spell. In the next area, you just need to move a lantern from one hook to another to progress. Placing the lantern on the third hook at the end of the area will open another door with a lantern behind it, and placing this lantern on the hook in the middle of the area will open another door on the right.
In the next area, you will have to defeat several waves of dummies until one of the doors opens. You will then have to chase a door that leads away from you, which will lead you to a dark hallway. Throwing Lumos and running up and down this hallway several times will open another door, through which is a chest and the first of the lanterns needed to complete the Atrium section.
Explore the Atrium (right side)
After placing the first Atrium lantern, you need to take the right path, which will take you to a room with a lantern and a hook. If you place the lantern on the hook, the room will be rearranged, allowing you to progress to a new area and through an open doorway. Here you will find a large chessboard, some squares of which break when you stop there. You can determine which squares are safe based on the position of chess pieces or simply avoid cracked squares, which glow red when scanned with Revelio.
Going up the stairs at the other end of the chessboard will take you back to the room you were in, but this time you will be on the other side. You must pull the lantern towards you and place it on the hook, which creates a bridge from one side of the room to the other. As you follow this new path, you'll eventually find another lantern, which you can then place on the hook near the Atrium doors to unlock another Fastidio encounter.
Play with Fastidio
After passing through the doors of the Atrium, you will again have to defend yourself against Fastidio. This time around, instead of just a few crates, he'll also throw a few waves of enchanted dummies at you. Incendio can be useful here, especially if you've mastered the skill by using talents to cause it to drop a ring of fire every time it's cast. Once the dummies are gone, Fastidio will go away and you can return to the foyer for a final showdown with that poltergeist.
Fight against Fastidio's monster
The fight against Fastidio's monster takes place in three phases, as indicated by its health bar. The first two phases are incredibly simple, you just have to hit the monster with powerful dodging and blocking spells whenever necessary. The monster summons a number of dummies between phases, so you need to be sure to take them down first to avoid getting trapped, which can happen quite quickly if you're not careful.
The final stage of this boss fight is quite tricky, as you will have your screen upside down and your controls reversed for much of the stage. It is therefore advisable to reserve ancient magic for this phase to speed up the fight. At the end of the fight, you will come to an agreement with Fastidio and can exit the chest to then face Cassandra.
Duel against Cassandra
Following a discussion with Penny, you will be asked to speak to Officer Singer about the crimes of the malicious landlady. But just when the officer is not expecting it, Cassandra will cast a curse on him that will cause her to lose consciousness, dragging you into a new three-phase fight alone.
During the early phases, make sure to hit Cassandra with your strongest spells, making sure to cast Protego as soon as she tries to go on the offensive. You can also cast Crucio if you have previously learned the Unforgivable Curse, which will give you an advantage over your opponent.
End of the quest Take care of your cauldron
At the end of the fight against Cassandra, Agent Singer will come back to her and take care of the criminal, and you can finally take control of the store you fought so hard for. Finally, you can choose a new name for the store with Penny, although this does not influence the rest of the game. Then it will be the end of the quest, which you will be rewarded with a Trader's Coat, a High Merchant Form and a Merchant Set. In addition, from now on you can sell in your own shop any equipment you want to get rid of to earn 10 % more than if you did it with other merchants in Hogwarts Legacy.
