When did Genshin Impact come out?
It was released on Android, IOS, PlayStation 4 and Windows on September 28, 2020. While it was available on PlayStation 5 on April 28, 2021. The game is set in a fantasy world of Teyvat, home to 7 nations. Each nation is inspired by a real country and culture. Each nation is linked to a different element and governed by a god called Archon. The story recounts the adventure of twin brothers who traveled together before parting ways in Teyvat. The Traveler then sets out with his companion Paimon in search of the lost brother. To do so, he becomes involved in the affairs of the nations of Teyvat. The twin will be the opposite of the chosen gender.
When was the game developed?
Development of the game Genshin Impact began in 2017. It is an action role-playing video game. It was developed and published by miHoYo. Genshin Impact is a Chinese term. It features an anime-style open-world environment and an action-based combat system using elemental magic and character switching.
What's more, the game is free-to-play. It is monetized through a gacha mechanic where players can obtain new characters and weapons. The advantage of the game is that it is regularly improved thanks to patches that use the game-as-a-service model.
A date for Nintendo Switch?
As yet, HoYoverse has not given a release date announcing the porting of Genshin Impact to Switch. The trailer seduced gamers, especially those who already own Nintendo's hybrid console. However, the platform has always kept its promises. At the end of January 2023 is still "coming soon" to Link and Mario's console. On the other hand, speculations were betting between December 2022 or January at the latest. As yet, the Chinese company has given no release date for this project. Switch players fear they'll be deprived of this success.
On the other hand, the lack of communication on the product could also come from Nintendo. The platform is known to be strict when it comes to framerate, especially on the Switch console. As a result, before approving a port, the firm demands superior qualities, notably 30 stable FPS as a minimum, and the same goes for graphic quality, which must also exceed the level of Zelda: Breath of The Wild.
Since its release, the game has received positive feedback and reviews focusing on its immersive open world and combat mechanics. However, it has also received criticism for its simplistic endgame and monetization model. So far, the game has recorded launch revenues of over $3 billion in its first year.
